In the early stages of my artistic experimentation, I sought a sense of materiality and manual engagement within a medium that had by then become largely digital and immaterial: photography. I found this material dimension through the pinhole camera; from its construction to the use of paper negatives, this process allowed me to rediscover this manual craftsmanship.
With this self-portrait project, I retrace and attempt to analyse the development of my method of reasoning over the years. This analysis always begins with observing events from multiple perspectives. Initially, I experienced reasoning as an inner conflict rather than a dialogue; this continued until a serious injury to my arm caused me to radically change my approach to the outside world, adopting a calmer, more considered approach. Thus, I came to face events and the resulting analysis as a peaceful dialogue between two versions of myself, and no longer as a conflict driven by pure instinct.
